About Department:

Gokhale Education Society’s department of Mechanical Engineering offers programs at Bachelor’s and master levels was established in the year 2009-10 approved by AICTE New Delhi and Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Mechanical Engineering department is one of the oldest department in the Institute. Department is committed to well being and all round development of Students. The department is currently running Undergraduate programme with sanction intake of 120 students and Post graduate Programme in Mechanical Design Engineering with sanction intake of 12 Students.

The department has well equipped and modern laboratory. Department undertake high end Teaching, Research and Development Activities in Laboratories.  Students of department are actively involved in various extracurricular activities and extension activities. A group of students are participating in national Competitions like SAE BAJA under the guidance of Experience faculty members. The Department has more than 20 highly qualified faculties. Mechanical Department faculty built our students with solid grounding of Mechanical engineering Principles and industry interaction with concern for society and environment.   For the development of the students, various expert lectures/workshop, technical tours/industrial visits are organized in various areas of Mechanical Engineering and allied fields regularly. Many companies of repute conduct campus placement and a good number of students get placed.

To impart quality education in Mechanical Engineering and develop students to be self-employed and to work in the industry and society.

Mission

M1: To impart analytical and conceptual skills through adequate exposure to theory and practice.

M2: To impart basic and contemporary science, engineering and research skills for identifying problems and to be able to develop practical solutions to them.

M3:  To inculcate social and professional ethical responsibility through value embedded technical knowledge.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

Undergraduate

• Mechanical Engineering Graduates will be able to work in the industries with thorough knowledge in the field of thermal, design and manufacturing processes.
• Mechanical Engineering graduate must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify formulate and solve a mechanical Engineering problem using research-based knowledge and research methods.
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate will be able to apply value embedded technical knowledge to assess social and professional ethical responsibility.

Post Graduate

• Mechanical Engineering Graduates will be able to develop research attitude and multi disciplinary approach through demonstration of good analytical, design and implementation skills.
• Mechanical Engineering Graduates will be able to investigate and provide solution to problems in the field of design, optimization and vibration using relevant research methodology, techniques and tools.
• Mechanical Engineering Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge of engineering and management principles to work as a member/leader of multidisciplinary design team.
